Our Patron – St. John the Baptist

Fr. John Mary Haw has rightly chosen St. John the Baptist as the Patron of his mission. We are called to lead a life in the manner and conviction with which St. John the Baptist lived. We meet John in the Gospels as the Forerunner of the Lord. He believed that he had been called to be spokesman for the truth that is given from on high. He was the maker of the path towards God.

In the course of history people have built all sorts of roads: roads of commerce, roads of conquest etc. But the one road to be built is the way of the Lord, a highway along which his holiness and truth shall find their access to all areas of human life. It can help to fill up the valleys of ignorance, to bring down the mountains and hills of stubborn prejudice and pride, to straighten peoples‘ instinctive resistance, which human nature interposes before the feet of God.
